Tennessee Orthopedic Alliance (TOA) was started by Dr. George Carpenter, Sr. in 1926 and has grown to become the largest and best orthopedic group in middle Tennessee. It is now home to 66 orthopedic surgeons at 12 different sites. TOA offers orthopedic services, physiatry, physical therapy, hand therapy, MRIs, CTs, and Urgent Care Clinics

Dr. Kurtz joined TOA in 2006 after he completed his joint replacement fellowship in Boston. He has served on the TOA Board from 2014 to present. He became President of TOA in 2020.
